Gaspard

Gaspard (Originally named "Garofoli" in the novel "Sans Famille") is a cruel, greedy man who lived at Groussinou Avenue in Paris. He used homeless children (including Remy) and treated them like slaves. Gaspard forced the homeless children to work and used the money that he collected from them for his own purpose. When he learned that Remy belongs to the wealthy Milligan family, he kidnapped the 10-year old girl and tried to get a 10,000-franc ransom from Mrs. Milligan. In the end, Gaspard failed to get the ransom money that he desires. He and the two other men involved in Remy's kidnapping were arrested by the Paris policemen. Remy and the rest of the homeless children were freed from Gaspard's cruelty. In the Tagalog-dubbed "Remi, Nobody's Girl," Gaspard is known as "Gaspar."
