Andrei Smirnov
Son of Sergei Smirnov, the Wild Bear of Russia. Rank is 2nd Lieutenant. He has an intense hatred of his father because of a military incident in which Sergei had to choose between saving his wife and saving his men. During his time in the A-Laws, he is assigned to the same unit as Louise Havley. Andrei appears to have one-sided feelings for Louise as he sympathizes with her hatred of the Gundams and is concerned about her constant spasms and one-track mind about revenge. Spoiler During the battle of the orbital elevator, Andrei becomes convinced that his father betrayed the federation after he sees Sergei and the rebel federation forces leader working together to stop the orbital elevator from falling. In a fit of rage he kills his father when Sergei attempts to tell him about how the A-Laws were the ones who caused the orbital elevator to fall.
