He attends Saotome academy only because 'his queen' ordered him to get close to Saotome for a certain reason. Camus can use a little magic (mostly ice related magic as seen in game) however he claims it is merely borrowed from his "Queen." Spoiler Towards the end of the game Camus reveals that his current name was originally given to him by his Queen. At his urging however, the main heroine renames him 'Christza R' and is told to keep the new name a secret. He then reveals in the best ending that in his country if someone -outside the Queen- renames someone, it is interpreted as a promise of [marriage] engagement.
