An Amakusa Catholic girl. She seems to have romantic feelings towards Tōma bordering on actual love but due to her shyness, she was not able to act on them and convey them to him. She has accompanied Tōma and friends on more than one occasion, going to, Italy, France, and then England with him. In the events of the 16th novel she becomes his caretaker. When Acqua first attacks, she fails to protect Touma, trying unsuccessfully to heal him with magic several times due to his Imagine Breaker. After Touma is sent to the hospital she is seen despairing because of her failure. She is rebuked by Tatemiya Saiji, who tells her to stop feeling sad and look to the future, when Acqua will come and attack again, and that she should focus on proving to Touma that it was worth his time protecting her from Acqua.
